Munoz2 Lab

Enzyme Biotechnology Research Lab

  • Liknedin

Welcome to Munoz2 Lab, a research lab where we study how extremophiles, and their respective CAZYmes, are able to perform catalysis and survive under different stress conditions. Our team is dedicated to advancing the understanding of these fascinating microorganisms and their unique enzymes.

Our Research Focus

At Munoz2 Lab, we are committed to exploring the intricate mechanisms of extremophiles and their CAZYmes. Our research delves into the molecular adaptations that enable these organisms and enzymes to thrive in extreme environments. We are interested in several types of polysaccharides and they are degraded into monosaccharides and the microbes use them as carbon source.

In addition, we are passionate to exploit these enzymes for biotechnological applications to convert difficult polysaccharides, especially from wastestreams, into useful materials, chemicals and commodities.

If this is interesting to you and want to learn more about these enzymes and what techniques we use in the lab, be in touch.
